1  General description. The estate is a dehesa located in Badajoz, within the Siberia Extremeña Biosphere Reserve, recognised by UNESCO. It has excellent access thanks to the N-430 national road and its N-430a branch. The land combines permanent pasture with holm oak and cork oak woodland, as well as areas reforested with holm oaks, cork oaks and Portuguese oaks. It is currently used for agricultural and livestock farming, focused on cattle, and has suitable buildings, facilities and machinery. The stream crosses the estate from east to west; another stream rises in the eastern sector. Its flow is seasonal, but the estate has abundant water resources thanks to springs, ponds and wells. The fauna is varied, with wild boar particularly noteworthy, alongside roe deer, foxes, rabbits and birds. The estate is classified as a ‘hunting-free zone’. 2  Area and plots. The total area, according to the cadastral certificate and SIGPAC, is 350 ha, a more precise measurement than that in the notarial deed. It is divided into enclosures by metal-mesh fencing, which facilitates livestock management. 3  Reforestation. 40 ha have been replanted with around 20,000 holm oaks, cork oaks and Portuguese oaks, contributing to sustainability and improving the landscape. 4  Water resources. The main system starts at a well with a submersible pump that raises water to a tank next to the main house. From there, it is distributed to the buildings, vegetable garden, garden and drinking troughs. In addition, there are several springs with ponds. M1 and M2: to the south, near the N-430. M3: on the western boundary, with a large pond. M4: in the east, a pond frequented by ducks. M5: near the buildings, with a watering trough. M6: on the hillside of Cerro, with two ponds. M7: to the southeast, with a large pond. The well water has been analysed and is potable; the spring water has not been analysed, although it is presumed to be of good quality. 5  Buildings. Main house: a two-storey chalet built of local stone. The ground floor  semi-basement  contains a garage, storage rooms, a wine cellar and a games room. The upper floor has 7 bedrooms  3 en suite , a living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen and terraces. Garden with fruit trees and flower beds; nearby swimming pool enclosed by masonry. Caretaker’s house: a small chalet with 2 bedrooms, a toilet and a kitchen-diner, next to a vegetable garden for personal consumption. Multi-purpose building: a 1,000 m2 structure used as a feedlot, with a storage room, pigsty, chicken coop, outdoor pens, handling race and weighbridge. 6  Livestock. A herd of 200 to 250 cattle, Retinta and Limousin crosses, with some purebred specimens of both breeds. 7  Machinery. Agricultural and livestock equipment. New Holland T100  4WD  and Fiat 88.85M tractors. SANZ MORALES implements  chisel plough, harrows, mower, angledoce . Tenias front loader, Sola fertiliser spreader, Castillejo Castro forestry mulcher. Honda rotary tiller, Stihl chainsaw, and auxiliary tools. 8  Possible improvements. a  Farming: expand reforestation  e.g. olive grove on Cerro , improve pastures with artificial meadows, build a new feedlot, silos or an auxiliary building, and install solar panels to reduce energy costs. b  Rural tourism: the estate offers considerable future potential. Extensions to the main house, construction of chalets or tourist apartments, paving access roads and creating sports facilities could be considered. c  Water infrastructure: construction of a dam on the stream has been studied; it is viable, although unnecessary given the current water supply.
