The cortijo is located 2km from the village of Los Santos de Maimona, in the province of Badajoz. It enjoys a privileged location: 75 km from Badajoz, 130 from Cáceres, 132 from Sevilla, 300 from Madrid and 300 from Lisboa.
The estate has an approximate area of 27 Ha, with a super-intensive drip-irrigated plantation of 50.000 Arbequina olive trees.
The cortijo, a unique property, has been built and renovated based on the architecture of an old farmhouse with a beam-and-weight olive oil mill.
Its elegant structures, two courtyards, vaulted ceilings with exposed brickwork and endless views across the blanket of olive trees surrounding it perfectly combine the elegance of stately rustic style with the comfort and harmony felt in the countryside.
The 1.150 m2 cortijo is laid out over two floors. Access to the ground floor is through a beautiful wooden gate. The wonderful entrance, with its ceilings more than 5 metres high, leads through an impressive and elegant space to the main rooms.
On this floor we find a living room with a fireplace and direct access to one of the courtyards, a spacious kitchen, five bedrooms (one with an en-suite bathroom), three further bathrooms, an office, a laundry room, two courtyards (one with enough space for a swimming pool), a garage for three cars, and a machine room.
The house is heated by electric induction heating.
The upper floor is accessed via an external staircase. It occupies an open-plan space with no internal divisions and a built area of 370 m2. Given the existing windows, at least 7 new rooms could be created.
From this floor, a metal staircase also leads to a small tower-viewpoint that served as a counterweight for the mill press.
In addition, there is the caretaker’s house, a home with 190 m2 of built area; attached to this house is a warehouse of around 150 m2.
The farm produces an average of 180.000 kilos of olives per year.
The olive oil production more than covers all the estate’s expenses.
