It has been thoroughly restored the entire structure, the keep, walls, battlements and sentry boxes.
It has also been installed a forged in two of its wings - 3 floors, for subsequent updating to its future use, as can be seen in the photos.
In total there is 1800m2 of building area, licensed for a luxury hotel, Foundation or Art Center, or an impressive and unique home.
The castle has a square floor plan, with crenellated garitons at the corners and an imposing 35 meter high keep. It also has about 4000m2 of adjoining land.
The restoration project is unique in Spain and has been developed with numerous construction details and supervision of specialized architects and restorers.
The castle of Guijosa was built by D.Inigo Lopez de Orozco, a key character during the reigns of Alfonso II and his son D. Pedro I "The Cruel", militating fianlmente in the ranks of D. Enrique de Trastamara, falling prisoner in the battle of Najera, where he died at the hands of King D. Pedro I himself.
In the 15th century the fortification passed to the house of Medinaceli, being documented the stay of D. Luis de la Cerda in 1429.
The castle is BIC  Bien de Interes Cultural  which means wide possibilities of subsidies up to 80-90%, and some reductions in payment of taxes such as IBI.
