In the 11th century, in the site of Belver, in Tierra de Campos, the neighborhoods or villages were given their own name, to later be identified for the payment of tithes, and when they reached 50 neighbors, they erected their own church.
In the place where the 12th century church of San Miguel de Alafes was located, in Belver de los Montes, now disappeared, now stands El Mayoral, a former water mill, the mill of Alafes, restored and transformed into a Rural House, an oasis of 5.4 Ha. in the middle of this Tierra de Campos.
This ancient mill is surrounded by trees and meadows, and is located between the towns of Castronuevo and Belver de los Montes, 4 km. from each of them. Hunting accommodation of the great writer from Valladolid, Miguel Delibes, a good friend of these lands, lover of partridge hunting and small game.
The main building has two floors and covers an area of 890 m2. Currently it is a Rural House, and it has a restaurant, a winery, a large living room connecting with three rooms with bathroom for clients, and the owners' residence.
The Sequillo River crosses the estate, and there are two wells that guarantee irrigation. Currently, there is sheep grazing in the meadows, but they can be used for any activity, leisure, agricultural or livestock.
