Marine - By definition, it is a seawater reservoir suitable for the extraction of salt and molico  seaweed . In the deeper areas of the estuary, it allows the collection of 'Molico', which is an excellent fertilizer for cultivated land. These unique spaces in the Aveiro landscape, with the first reference in the 10th century, have survived since then. In a salt marsh, not only sea salt and fleur de sel are born; a edible plant, known as green salt or salicornia, also grows spontaneously and wildly, used for various uses.
